to Her Majesty’s Principal Secretary of Statefor the Home
Department. London, 1838. 8vo, green cloth, rare.
These reports were the foundation on which the new Poor
Law System was established in Ireland, by the Irish Poor
Law Act of 1838. The new system was to be severely tested
only 10 years later with the horrors of the Great Famine.
