AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE IRISH ROCOCO CARVED MAHOGANY
CONSOLE TABLE, MID-18TH CENTURY,
with a vigorous, asymmetrical pierced apron, continuing around the sides, on contra-scroll
leaf carved legs with rockwork feet, with square later back legs and associated Georgian
mahogany top, with the trade label of “
M. Butler Ltd, Upper Abbey Street, Dublin
”. 97cm wide,
56cm deep, 80.5cm high (15/25)
Possibly originally with marble or slate top, this is an intriguing survivor from a little known
period of Irish interior style
