These cards, popularized in the 19th and early 20th centuries, utilise the principles of binocular vision to create a three-dimensional effect when viewed through a stereoscope. Each stereoview consists of two nearly identical images, taken from slightly different perspectives to mimic the way human eyes perceive depth. When viewed through a stereoscope, these images converge, producing a striking illusion of depth and immer- sion.
