In 1739, he was appoint- ed Lord High Chancellor of Ireland. In 1743, he was created Bar- on Newport in Tipperary. Then in 1755, he was created Viscount Jocelyn. He died in 1756. The Chancellor was a contemporary of Dean Swift and was the first president of “Swift’s Hospital” where you can still see the Chancellor’s coat of arms in the stained glass window in the main hall. € 5,000 – 8,000
