96 160 *A FRAGMENT OF A WIGSTAND CHINA, QING DYNASTY, QIANLONG MARK AND POSS. OF THE PERIOD Of round shape, resting on four short feet linked together with a foliate apron. Its top part adorned in gilt with lotus scrolls against a coral ground. The base, also all covered with coral red but for the feet, is centered by a gilt painted six-character mark of Emperor Qianlong in seal script also known as zhuanshu. Please contact our office (yuchen@ adams.ie ) for further information. 御用假发架残片 中国 € 800 - 1,500 161 A MARBLE-GLAZED OR ‘FAUX-MARBLE’ PORCELAIN VASE OF DOUBLE-GOURD SHAPE, HULUPING CHINA, POSSIBLY QING DYNASTY Resting on a spread foot, the body of flattened double-gourd shape surmounted by a short tubular neck with an everted rim. The two round parts of the body are linked together with applied handles. The outer part is all covered in light brown, dark brown and white to resemble a marble stone. H: 22 cm Notes: 1. Huluping ( 葫芦瓶 ) vase derives its form from a double gourd, a shape that was made possible by the invention of the Longquan Kiln during the Southern Song dynasty. As a symbol of fertility, the double gourd is considered to be good luck. It is also a Daoist emblem of immortality. 2. This glazed, known as ‘faux-marble’, is called a ‘trompe l’oeil’ as it aims at resembling marble stone. € 10,000 - 15,000
