The outer part of the body is finely painted in underglaze cobalt blue with a compartmental- ized décor of a man with ladies in various pavilions, possibly inspired from the ‘Romance of the Western Chamber’ (Xīxiāngjì - 西廂記 ), whilst the inner part is painted with a band of swastikas combined with five boys. The base bears an under- glaze cobalt blue six-character mark of Emperor Kangxi in kaishu script within a double circle. It is finely painted in underglaze cobalt blue with a compartmentalized décor of ladies and flowers on the outer body, the inner part is painted with flowers and rocks combined with a bat.
