Adorned in red, green, mauve and yellow enamels with a decor laid out in registers: bands of geometrical patterns on the lower and on the upper parts; hun- dred boy them on the medium part of the body. H (approximately): 32,6 cm Note: The felicitous theme of ‘One Hundred Boys’ first appeared in China during the Song dynasty (960-1279) and is a pun for a fertile union and a long-lasting male descent. 一对 “ 百子图 ” 罐 中国,清代 € 2,000 - 4,000 149 A PAIR OF CAPUCIN-ENAMELED PORCE- LAIN JARS CHINA, QING DYNASTY It rests on a flat unglazed foot and has a glob- ular body. It is finely painted in famille rose enamels with various flowers within reserved medallions against a brown capucin ground.
