84 142 A LONGQUAN CELADON STONEWARE WATER POT WITH APPLIED FLORAL DECORA- TION CHINA, ATTRIBUTED TO YUAN DYNASTY OR LATER This charming little vessel, probably a ‘literati’ or ‘scholar’ water pot, has a compressed globular body surmounted by a short and thick slightly everted rim. The body with molded and applied continuous peony scrolls and all covered with an attractive see-green glaze. H: 5,5 cm Notes 1. ‘Longquan’ wares with molded and applied decoration first appeared in the late Song dynasty but became popular and were produced in larger quantities during the Yuan dynasty. 2.
