It is all covered with a light turquoise enamel, at the exception of the base, which is left unglazed. The base bears several old collector labels: ‘Ep. Kien-Long 1736-1796’, ‘Chien-Lung Localo Verde’ and #105. H: 6,2 cm Provenance: - a private collection; - formerly the property of Otto Gürgen, a German prominent industrialist in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the 1930s (by repute). € 500 - 700 119 FORMERLY THE PROPERTY OF OTTO GURGEN: A PROMINENT GERMAN ARGENTINIAN INDUSTRIALIST (BY REPUTE) A TURQUOISE GLAZED BISCUIT PORCELAIN DOME SHAPE ‘CHI DRAGON’ WATER POT, TAIBAIZUN CHINA, QING DYNASTY, POSSIBLY KANGXI PERIOD Of ribbed dome shape, it rests on a short recessed foot and is applied with a climbing chi dragon. The outer part is enameled in turquoise and auber- gine blue, thereby creating a contrast between the dragon and the pot itself. H: 5 cm Provenance: - a private collection; - formerly the property of Otto Gürgen, a German prominent industrialist in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the 1930s (by repute). € 500 - 700 120 FORMERLY THE PROPERTY OF OTTO GURGEN: A PROMINENT GERMAN ARGENTINIAN INDUSTRIAL- IST (BY REPUTE) TURQUOISE GLAZED BISCUIT PORCELAIN ‘MYTHICAL BEAST’ JOYSTICK HOLDER CHINA, QING DYNASTY, POSSIBLY KANGXI PERIOD It is molded as a crouching mythical beast and is all covered with a turquoise glaze, at the exception of the base. The base bears several collector labels: ‘#93 par leges acostados’, ‘Kang-Hsi 1662-1727’ and ‘Verde-Turquesa’. L: 9,4 cm Provenance: - a private collection; - formerly the property of Otto Gürgen, a German promi- nent industrialist in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the 1930s (by repute). € 500 - 700 121 FORMERLY THE PROPERTY OF OTTO GURGEN: A PROMINENT GERMAN ARGENTINIAN INDUSTRIALIST (BY REPUTE) A TURQUOISE GLAZED BISCUIT PORCELAIN ‘QILIN’ JOY- STICK HOLDER CHINA, QING DYNASTY, POSSIBLY KANGXI PERIOD It is molded as a crouching Qilin or Chinese unicorn resting on an octofoil flat base. It is all covered with a turquoise glaze, at the exception of the base. The base bears several handwritten old col- lector labels: ‘XVIIe K’ang Hsi 1667-1723’, ‘#93 par legues acostados’, ‘Kang-Hsi 1662 1723’ and ‘Verde-Turquesa’. H: 4,1 cm - width: 6,5 cm Provenance: - a private collection; - formerly the property of Otto Gürgen, a German prominent industrialist in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the 1930s (by repute).
