Koga Kano was born in Wakayama prefecture. He was a student of Matsuoka Eikyu and graduated in 1919 from Tokyo School of Fine Arts. His prints were published by “Shin Yamato-e Moku-Hanga Kankokai”, which aimed at the revitalization of Japanese traditional painting. 2. The divers and the rough sea at the Shiono- misaki. This is one of Koga’s prints for Matsuoka Eikyu’s project to revitalize the traditional Yama- to-e more popular forms.
