W JEROZOLIMIE ROK 1944’ BURMA (MYANMAR), SHAN STATE, EARLY 20TH CENTURY With a flat foot and a globular body. Adorned in deep repousse with battle scenes with oriental archers wearing tiara as well as various trees, including palm trees. The base is engraved with a landing bird. There is a Polish inscrip- tion on the rim: ‘Zespołowa Nagroda Wychowania Fizycz Delegata Ministra W.R.O.P. (sic. for WRiOP) w Jero- zolimie Rok 1944’ (lit. in English: Team Award for Physical Education of the Delegate of the Minister W.R.O.P. (sic. for WRiOP - i.e. Department of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Public Education) in Jerusalem 1944’. The workmanship is particularly crisp and detailed. He has a round serene face, with half-closed eyes, thick lips and elongated earlobes. His hands are in bhumisparsha mudra. He has a round serene face, with half- closed eyes, thick lips and elongated earlobes. His hands are in bhumisparsha mudra. H: 40 cm € 1,500 - 3,000 424 AN ELEPHANT HANDLED AND REPOUSSE ANGLO INDIAN RAJ SILVER ‘HUNTING’ TROPHY CUP BEARING A MARK POSSIBLY READING ‘TIOOG’ INDIA, POSSIBLY LUCKNOW, CIRCA 1880-1920 Resting on a spread foot combined, with a compressed globular body and an everted rim and flanked with two finely and naturalistically chiseled ele- phant-shaped handles. Both sides of the body are worked in a deep repoussé against a guilloche ground, the front one with a tiger hunting scene with a horse rider holding a spear and dogs, the back one with passing elephants and lions. The base bears a mark, likely that of the maker, possibly reading ‘TIOOG’. H: 11 cm - width: 22 cm Weight: 326,3 grams € 600 - 800
