It is impressed with three red seals in zhuanshu or seal script. An old handwritten collector label or note is attached to it. Written in French, it says: ‘Annam L’âme en soie représentation matérielle de l’âme du mort dans les funérailles Tour du monde 1890’ (lit. ‘The silk soul a material representation of the soul of the deceased in the funerals World tour 1890).
