Fine Asian Art | 28-29 & 30 June 2022 111 Additional information and photographs for all lots can be found at www.adams.ie 193 A SMALL GE OR GEYAO CRACKLED CELADON GLAZE PORCELAIN ARROW VASE, FANGHU APOCRYPHAL MARK OF EMPEROR QIANLONG CHINA, POSSIBLY REPUBLIC / MINGUO PERIOD It rests on a faceted spread foot, its rim left unglazed, and has a pear-shaped faceted body, the shoulder is applied with two tube-shaped handles. It is all covered in a crackle celadon glaze. The base bears an apocry- phal mark of Emperor Qianlong, a six-character one in underglaze cobalt blue and in seal / zhuanshu script. The base also bears a collector label. H: 14,8 cm € 3,000 - 5,000 192 A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE ‘DEER AND FUNGUS’ POR- CELAIN BOTTLE VASES, TIANQIUPING APOCRYPHAL MARK OF EMPEROR QIANLONG CHINA, POSSIBLY REPUBLIC / MINGUO PERIOD It rests on a spread foot and has a compressed globular body surmounted by a tubular neck. It is finely painted in famille rose enamels with various flowers, including lotus flowers, as well as with medallions. The medallions, five in total, including three on the body and two on the neck, de- picts various scenes: the two on the neck depict auspicious censer and vessels; the three on the body depict deers and lingzhi fungus, squirrels and grapes and pheasants amidst flowers. The bases are inscribed with an identical iron red six-character mark in seal / zhuanshu script, maybe an apocryphal one of Emperor Qianlong. The bases bear iden- tical collector labels: ‘At 171’ and ‘29/42 198 2101100’. H: 29 cm Note: The Chinese believe the deer lives to a very great age and, as a result, has become a symbol for long life. The deer is tradi- tionally believed to be the only animal able to find the magical lingzhi fungus of immortality. € 1,000 - 2,000 193A A PAIR OF PALACE-SIZE CELADON-GLAZED TWO-HAN- DLED PORCELAIN VASES APOCRYPHAL MARK OF EMPEROR YONG- ZHENG CHINA, POSSIBLY REPUBLIC / MINGUO PERIOD Of archaistic Hu shape, they rest on a spread foot and have a globular body surmounted by a tubular neck applied with dragon-shape arched handles as well as with loose ring imita- tion handles. They are intricately carved with various patterns arranged in superposed registers such as kui dragons, lions and stylized banana leaves. They bear an engraved or impressed apocryphal mark of Emperor Yongzheng, a six-character one in seal / zhuanshu script. Offered at auction with a matching pair of wooden stands.
