Foreword
This is Adam’s fifth Summer Loan Exhibition drawn exclusively from Private Collections
from both North and South of the border. The exhibition opens at Adam’s in Dublin
this year where it will run for 4 weeks in July before transferring to Clandeboye for
August/September where it forms part of the Clandeboye Festival 18

– 23
rd
August with
Camerata Ireland.
The Summer exhibition this year celebrates the significant role that women have played in
the history of Irish art, be it through their own craft, their organisational skills and their
encouragement and support of younger artists; a role that has too often been overlooked.
