Both presented on three lion legs ormolu stands by Maison Boin Taburet in Paris, both bearing the mark of the maker to the below as well as engraved numbers. D: 19,2 cm €600 - 1,200 COMMON NOTE: The phap lam technique, also known as enamel on copper, was intro- duced in Vietnam during the 8th year of the reign of Emperor Minh Mang (corresponding to 1827) by Chinese craftsmen possibly originating from Canton, Guangdong. An imperial official studio was created under the direction of Vu Van Mai, the official court painter.
