With a selection of 550+ items, the sale takes you on a journey through China, Vietnam, Japan, India and the Middle East. The vast scope of lots on offer promises to delight every viewer, featuring pieces that will charm both seasoned connoisseurs and new collectors alike. My name is Thibault A. Duval and I am a French specialist in Asian Art and the recently appointed Head of Adam's Asian Art Department. I studied at Ecole du Louvre in Paris (B.A. & M.A.) and also at Trinity College. I now have over a decade of professional experience and I have organized 30 specialty auctions, some of these at Hôtel Drouot as part of “Asia Week Paris”. In my new role at Adam's, I hope to deliver two major sales a year, one in June and one in De- cember, tying in with “Asia Week Paris”. There is also the possibility of holding several smaller auctions each year, running as either “online only” sales or specialised auctions devoted to a particular subject, such as Japanese woodblock prints. Although undoubtedly a large cultural centre, China is not the only source of Asian Art and, as such, our sales will focus on five major areas/themes: 1. Arts of China 2. Arts of Vietnam & South-East Asia 3. Arts of India & Middle East 4. Arts of Korea & Japan 5.
