L (the weapon): 15,5 cm € 150 - 300 403 A SAMURAI SWORD, POSSIBLY A KOTO WAKIZASHI O SURIAGE Japan, The blade possibly before 1600 1. Blade description: - Tsukurikomi (shape): hira zukuri (two sides), hiro mune (two-side back of the blade), kiri nakago (later shortened), almost straight, the curve starting around the habaki (kochi zori), possibly an old Tachi blade given the strong original curve near the grip typical of the blades for fights on, strong shining for an old patina. - Nagasa (length of the blade): 54 cm - Haba (thickness of the blade): 0,5 cm - Sori (curve of the blade): 0,1 cm - Ji hada (steel grain): itame-hada type (resem- bling a wooden board). - Hamon (temper line): gunome midare type (taking a large part of the blade) - Boshi (return of the temper line to the blade tip): midare (irrégulier) - Period: possibly before 1600. 2. Mount description (koshirae): With a black lacquered wooden scabbard (saya) set with a steel kojiri and embellished with a silk cord (sageo) laced in the style of Ronin Musubi. The mounts adorned en suite with the theme of the female Demon Hanya. The grip (tsuka) all covered with same (ray skin) and adorned with menuki adorned with horses. Dark blue silk threads. Description of the blade: Wrought iron, one side with a groove (bo hi) to- gether with a dragon. Mumei (unsigned). 2. Description of the mount (koshirae): A silver en suite silver mount with a fuchi kashira and a kozuka adorned with chrysanthemums, the menuki also describing flowers.
