Adam's Fine Vintage Wines & Spirits 4th - 16th December 2020

8 This is a timed online-only auction This catalogue exclusively contains timed online-only auction lots and will not be offered as partof a live auction. Bids for these lot(s) may be executed in one of two easy ways:- either by on-linebids through your My Adams account on our website or by standard written commission bid left with a member of staff. What is a Timed Auction? A timed online-only auction is automated and takes place solely online through our website www.adams.ie . The bidding for each lot is opened at a predetermined level, set by the auctioneer, and runs for a set period of time, in this instance from 4pm on Friday 4 th December 2020. During this period of open bidding you will be able to see the current winning bid on each lot. You may place a higher maximum bid of your choice and the bidding will automatically increase by the next increment. If your maximum bid is several increments higher than the current bid, the bidding will still only increase by one increment until you are bid against when it will move up one in your favour. This process will continue until your maximum amount is outbid. Bidders are automatically informed by email if they are the current winning bidder, or if they have been outbid by another competing bidder. If you have been outbid and the auction is still open, you are free to leave a higher bid. At the end of the defined bidding period, 2pm on Wednesday 16 th Decem- ber, if the highest bid offered meets the minimum price designated by the Auctioneer (i.e. the seller’s reserve price), the lot is sold. With a timed auction, the closing time is staggered, with bidding for lot 1 ending at 2pm and each sub- sequent lot closing thirty seconds after the previous. If there is a flurry of bidding on a lot just as it reaches its closing time, the lot is kept open for an extended period (c. thirty seconds extra) to enable everybody to fairly get their bids in. All winning bidders will be notified by email once the auction has fully ended. Steps to participate: • First, log in to, or register for, a My Adams account (A valid credit/debit card is required) • Visit www.adams.ie , click on Sign In and then register. • Visit the timed online auction catalogue within the Forthcoming Auctions tab. • Find the lot number you are interested in. • Place your maximum bid, the current lead bid will be displayed along with the number of bidders already bidding on the lot. The minimum bid required will also be outlined. • If you do not have an email address and cannot set up a My Adam’s account, please contact our staff who will be happy to help you in placing a bid. How your maximum bid works: By placing your maximum bid, the system will automatically adjust your bid to reflect the next winning bid increment which could be lower than your maximum bid. Your bid will automatically increase should someone else bid, only up to your maximum bid. Example: Bidder A leaves a maximum bid of €100, bidder B leaves a maximum bid of €200 on the same lot. Bidder A is now knocked out of the lead and bidder B holds the current winning bid that auto adjusts to €110 (NB not their maximum bid). The system auto adjusts the bid to the next winning increment. User B’s bid will only be further executed if another user bids above their current bid of €110 up to their max- imum of €200, after which they will be knocked out and an e-mail issued advising them to increase their bid. • If you are outbid you will be notified immediately by e-mail • To increase your bid, simply log back in and up your bid • When the timed auction finishes, winning bidders will be notified by e-mail • Buyers premium plus VAT (25% in total) will be added to your winning bid amount. • An invoice will issue and you can securely pay online through our website or in person or by bank transfer. Your invoice will detail all the payment & collection particulars. Buying at Adam’s
