Diameter 20cm (8”) € 250 - 350 182 AN INDIAN KUTCH SILVER SUGAR CASTOR, 19TH CENTURY; together with a two handle bowl, each profusely chased and decorated with floral scrolls, the bowl with handles in the form of lizards / crocodiles, both stamped ‘O.M BHUJ’ for Oomersee Mawji, Kuch, India, circa 1870. Sugar castor 12.7cm (5”) high; bowl 10cm (4”) high Mawji was one of the two great Indian masters at rendering animals and was appointed court silversmith to His Highness The Maharao of Kutch.
