This pair of Flintlock Cavalry pistols and the Irish George III Flintlock Carbine (Lot 17) are consecutively numbered‘WC 429; 430; 431’ The Registration of Firearms ( Ireland) Act of August 22, 1843, provid- ed for the granting of licenses to Irish firearm owners and required the firearms to be registered by county, borough or city constabulary officials who recorded the registration and the registry number (normally a letter indicating the jurisdiction followed by a number- usually four digits).The Act required the arms to be marked under the supervision of the relevant inspector of the Constabulary Force.The number indicates the registration as specified in the licence. € 2,000 - 3,000
