From its historic boutique overlooking Piazza San Marco, the firm built a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and refined taste, combining the precision of traditional goldsmith- ing with the poetic spirit of Venice. Missiaglia’s creations have long reflected the city’s culture and artistry. Throughout the twen- tieth century, the house became known for elegant jewels in gold and platinum set with dia- monds and coloured gemstones, often inspired by life in Venice: lanterns, bows, and the em- blematic Moretto brooches among them. Alongside its jewellery, the company also produced finely modelled silver objects that share the same attention to detail and sense of design found in its jewels that lead the company to being represented in numerous exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale. Initially rooted in the classic styles of the nineteenth century, Missiaglia’s production evolved through the decades, and bound to Venetian iconography, these jewels were often intended as elegant souvenirs of Venice and enduring symbols of its artistry.
