Before leaving their home, Kutchinsky and members of his family had worked as jewellers in the court of Ludwig of Bavar - ia, and the brand quickly garnered a reputation for exquisite craftsmanship and whimsical design. The easing of wartime restrictions in the vibrant post-war era of the late 1940s and 1950s was celebrated by a marked return to luxury and creative expression. This character became a hallmark feature of the Kutchinsky brand, and the name grew to be synonymous with flamboyant pieces adorned with marquise and baguette diamonds, excelling in the art of stone-cutting and setting techniques.
