A lifelong fascination with gemstones shaped Lauren’s path from an unusually young age. From childhood, the designer was enchanted by gems, spending hours in the Natural History Museum and, by the age of twelve, she was already buying and cataloguing her own collection of stones. A book on Fulco di Verdura inspired her to teach herself traditional gouache jewellery painting, and her studies at Central Saint Martins refined that passion into a distinctive visual language. In 2012 she and her husband Nicholas Briggs opened a studio dedicated to contemporary high jewellery, creating only around forty one- of-a-kind pieces each year. Working with master craftsmen in Geneva, she treats jewellery as min - iature sculpture: architectural and abstract, free from conventional motifs. Adriana’s devotion to colour and texture leads her to natural, unenhanced gems such as spinels, zircons, tourmalines and opals, often custom-cut to fit seamlessly into her designs. Her precision and individuality were celebrated in 2018 when Phillips mounted the exhibition “Lauren Adriana: Jewels Now” in New York and London, and again in 2022 when she was invited to exhibit at the Sa- lon Art + Design in New York, affirming her artis - tic relevance and public appeal.
