AR10.510, with warranty booklet from Hermès, maker’s case, outer box and booklet, accompanied with photocopy of invoice, case 38mm, length 22cm €8,000-12,000 The Hermès Arceau Le Temps Voyageur is a timepiece made for the modern man who values travel or who works between time zones, a watch for a person not contained by the globe which the piece is so deftly decorated with. The Le Temps Voyageur has the rounded case and curved bezel, made of stainless steel, which the Arceau line is known for, as well as the standard asymmetrical stirrup shape of the lugs which are soldered to the middle of the case. The names of 24 cities appear on the bezel of the ring which is satin finished. The mechanical self-winding watch is a masterful joining of expert horology and beautiful design. The Arceau line by Hermès began in 1978 by Henri d’Origny and remains dar- ing and bold with the luxury brand continuing to release new designs within the line to this day. The Le Temps Voyageur is a perfect example of this exciting renewal within watch design. The depiction of a map was created by Jérôme Col- liard, a French graphic designer, for the 2016 equestrian “Saut Hermès Show Jumping Competition” in Paris and shows not a map of the earth but of a fantasy land which pulls inspiration from antiquity. The land and earth contrast in deep, beautiful blues while the design of the numbers on the dials are fanciful and lend to the fantastical motif of the design.
