The brand was founded in 1980 by David Yurman, a sculp- tor, and his wife, Sybil Yurman, a painter. They combined their artistic backgrounds to create distinctive jewellery designs. They were born two months and a few miles apart. Their coincidental encounter in New York in 1969 marked the beginning of a long-lasting collaboration in both business and art. The business that David and Sybil have established is based on their ongoing conversation about their mutual creative vision and desire to create exquisite clothing.
