The Morelli family’s first foray into design was in Philadelphia in the early 20th century where the family turned a talent for creating garments into the country’s premier bespoke theatre costume company. In the 1970’s Paul Morelli pivoted the family business to luxu- ry jewellery in order to follow his passion for intricate design and metallurgy. Using the exacting skills needed for garment design, Morelli oversees the many craftsmen who still hand- make the House’s pieces today. Lot 187 is from the Confetti collection, a collection which takes eternal love as its theme. The collection uses asymmetry and a variance in circular diamond sizes to draw attention to the stones and their catching of light.
