StephenWebster is a London-based contemporary fine jewellery brand established in 1989. Operating under a Fairtrade Gold license since 2011, sus- tainability is at the forefront ofWebster’s philosophy for his eponymous jewellery creations. He received an MBE in 2013 from HRHThe Prince ofWales for his services to the jewellery industry, in recognition of his determination to create daring fine jewellery pieces which prioritise ethics at every step. At the StephenWebster workshop, all materials used are thoughtfully and responsibly sourced. Having visited various goldmines across the globe,Webster has sought to apply his personal understanding of the working conditions and practices of artisan mining communities to his mission as a jeweller. The jewellery house ensures all their diamonds are sourced from suppliers of the Kimberly Process Certification Scheme, whose sole aim is to maintain the global acquisition of con- flict-free diamonds. StephenWebster strives to set the standard for a new generation of jewellery design and is passionate about the future of British craftsmanship and goldsmithing, actively nurturing emerging talent through his partnership with the British Fashion Council and through his sponsorship of young designers through his in-house mentorship programmes. His designs have been championed by the likes of Dua Lipa, Kate Hudson and Madonna, a big fan of the brand since the early 90’s.Webster’s creations are infused with an element of the rock-and-roll attitude of 1980’s London, where he grew up. Even his contemporary collections incite an attitude of rebellious creativity and stand out in the world of jewellery as pieces which are decidedly avant-garde. In 2015,Webster was named Jewellery Designer ofTheYear at the 13th annual GEM awards. 126 AN IMPORTANT DIAMOND ‘FEMME FATALE’ NECKLACE, BY STEPHEN WEBSTER, CIRCA 2005 Designed as a series of graduated scalloped links set with brilliant-cut diamonds, suspending to the front five similarly-set pendants, each centring an octagonal-shaped diamond, the central pendant within a detachable geometric frame pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, mounted in 18K gold, principal diamonds each approximately 2.00cts, 1.00ct, 1.00ct, 0.70ct and 0.70ct, remain- ing diamonds approximately 9.00cts total, signedWebster, with maker’s mark for StephenWebster, English hallmarks for London 2005,detachable geometric frame not illustrated, see page 163 with pendant, length approximately 41cm, detachable frame length 6.2cm € 20,000 - 30,000
