Clare. € 1,500 - 2,500 Portrait sculptor of note, Jim Connolly, now retired, was responsi- ble for many private and public commissions around Ireland from the late 1970’s to the early 2000’s. These included statues such as the Bard of Thomond in Limerick, Jackie Power, Vincent O Brien, Payne Stewart and also the National Monument to late President of Ireland, Eamon de Valera. This particular statue is one of a small edition of maquettes of that specific de Valera piece; one of which was gifted to President Gorbachev of the then Soviet Union and one to the late Charlie Haughey.
