Adam's Important Irish Art Wednesday May 30th 2018

NEW APPOINTMENT Adam’s are delighted to announce that Nicholas Gore Grimes has joined the firm as an Associate Director. A well-established gallerist and stalwart of the Dublin art scene, Nicholas is also highly regarded in the field of 20th Century design. This move sees him returning to Adam’s where he began his career in the art industry in 1995. He later moved to New York where he worked at Treillage Antiques, Bunny Williams’ Upper East Side antiques and design emporium. Armed with this experience, and at only twenty-three years of age, Nicholas returned to Dublin in 1999 to set up the Cross Gallery on Dublin’s Francis Street. Over the following nineteen years Nicholas worked with some of Ireland’s most critically acclaimed contem- porary artists, including John Boyd, Michael Coleman, Simon English, Felim Egan and Cristina Bunello. During that time the Cross Gallery also participated in numerous international art fairs in Basel, Miami and London. More recently, and since 2014, Nicholas has been dealing in 20th Century Design – sourcing pieces from all over Europe by iconic designers such as Gio Ponti, Paolo Buffa, Arne Vodder and Niels Otto Moller and more. In his new role at Adam’s, Nicholas will specialise in Irish art and 20th century design. He will also be charged with maintaining client relationships and developing new business and will work alongside Directors James O’Halloran, Stuart Cole and consul- tant David Britton. Over almost two decades, Nicholas has established himself as one of the most highly respected and admired gallerists and mid-century furniture dealers in the industry. Now he will bring this valuable experience in the modern and contemporary market to Adam’s to explore and develop new projects in this specialised area for this long-established firm.
