David Hone was born in Dublin in 1929. He has ex-
plored a number of themes through his works, and
is noted for his pensive Irish land and seascapes, but
also he expanded his oeuvre into still life and portrai-
ture. He has had an active career, and is a full member
and past-President of the Royal Hibernian Academy,
where he has exhibited since 1948.
