Sarah Purser studied at the Academie Julian 1878-79 which was unusual for an Irish
woman at the time.There she met and became friends with artists of many national-
ities including Swiss student Louise Breslav with whom she became a lifelong friend.
She was to return regularly to Paris visiting artist friends and exhibitions.
